Why Polarized Lens from Browning Eyewear
The single most important element of any Sport Sunglass is the Polarized lens. Only the highest ophthalmic quality polarized lenses are used to make Browning Eyewear Polarized Sunglasses. These lenses are of the same quality used in prescription eye glasses. Ophthalmic quality lenses have true curves and are free of distortion and aberration. Browning Eyewear Polarized Lenses are the most effective polarizers available.
Browning Eyewear Polarized lenses are made by a special process which places an ultra-thin optical filter of polarizing film which is actually a thin layer of iodine crystals arranged in vertical rows within the lens itself. This protects the filter from any damage and allows the lens to be ground and polished. This careful grinding and polishing of the lens produces exacting spherical curvatures which results in a clear, distortion-free lens. Polarized lens act as a chemical “venetian blind” that eliminates blinding glare by rearranging the reflected light before it reaches the eyes.
Browning Polarized Lenses block all UVB and UVA light. Ultra-Violet radiation is that light which causes not only sunburn, but can also harm the human eye; contributing to the deterioration of vision. Research has linked Ultra-Violet rays to the development of cataracts (clouding of the lens), as well as other degenerative conditions in the eye
Polarized lens Types in Browning eyewear
CR-39 2.0 Polarized Lens with Anti-scratch Technology - CR-39 is a special polymer developed for use in eyeglasses. It is estimated that in the U.S. today, over 90% of all eyeglasses use plastic lenses. CR-39 makes excellent polarized lenses and has a cost and weight advantage over glass with superior impact resistance while still maintaining an extremely clear lens. The Browning CR-39 polarized lens uses a harden polymer which makes the lens scratch resistant. CR-39 polarized lenses are standard in all our Elite Series.
In fact, CR 39 lens got its name from the 39th formulation that passed Columbia Resins (CR) test to make aircraft windshields 50 times more impact resistant than traditional windshield glass, so this shows how high quality the lens is.
All of our Elite Series Glasses come standard with a 2.0 CR-39 Polarized lens with Anti-Scratch coating technology.
Triacetate Lenses – TAC 1.5 Polarized Lens with Anti-Scratch Technology
Traiacetate Cellulose or TAC Polarized Lens feature a new lens technology formulated for superior visual and polarization clarity. They are hard coated to resist scratching and block out 99% of all harmful UV rays up to 400 nanometers. These lens are very lightweight and highly impact resistant and come standard in our Stalker “Armour Coated” series as we wanted a sunglass frame and lens that allowed for a very active lifestyle with a big concern to reduce weight of frame to help with ear and nose fatigue for wearing sunglasses all day.
Frame Materials
Elite Series
The Browning Eyewear Elite Series of Sunglass uses a “military grade” polymer known as TR-90, which not only looks great, but is a very lightweight, highly flexible frame that allows for great durability and comfort. Each frame also has the highest of quality hinges to withstand the punishment of an active outdoor lifestyle.
Stalker “Armour Coat” Series
The Browning Eyewear Stalker “Armour Coat” series uses a PC frame, but then reinforces it with our soft touch Armour Coating that allows for extreme comfort and feel, while reinforcing the PC frame. This allows for the frame to be highly flexible and durable while still maintaining its extremely lightweight feel. Each frame also has the highest of quality hinges to withstand the punishment of an active outdoor lifestyle.
Our Stalker Series also comes available in Mossy Oak Breakup Camouflage. Our 13 step application process insures the highest quality of camouflage and is actually “baked” into the armour coating to insure extreme durability. No other camouflage sunglass company uses our 13 step process to insure the highest quality camo pattern available.
